the highly-anticipated
champions league final
will be shown on channel 5, 2 am
tommorrow.
(lol.
i thought it was next week,
ahaha.
how forgetful of me.)
anyway,
i'll be tipping Barcelona to win,
maybe by 2 or 3 goals.
the quality in their side
is much more than in Arsenal's,
and spanish teams are traditionally
stronger in the technical department.
however,
Arsenal may stand a chance of
defeating the spanish champions,
provided if they stick to their
free-flow attacking style,
while still holding on to their continental;
4-1-4-1 formation.
the four man midfield of
R Pires, A Helb, F Ljungberg, Fabregas
should be able to provide ammunation
to their star captain and forward
T Henry,
while the back four will be shielded
by their anchorman,
G Silva.
one interesting fact to note
is that Arsenal's amazing run
was helped by the reserves
in the defending department.
it still remains to be seen, though,
if A Wenger will stick to
his young back four.
however,
with the return of S Campbell and A Cole
to full fitness,
i still prefer these two players to
hold the rearguard.
A Cole will be playing for england this summer,
and a run-out in the european cup
final should do some good for his fitness.
on the other hand,
barcelona's doctors will be
working overtime to regain
L Messi's fitness to full
in time for the final.
the youngster has got alot of creativity
and will be another threat
alongside Ronaldhino and S Eto
if he is allowed to play.
(L Giuly will take over his position
as support striker if he fails
to recover in time)
Arsenal's hopes of winning
lie on their capability on
neutralising the midfield trio of
Barcelona,
who are capable of doing damage
both from the air and ground.
many said that this final
will be a showdown
between the two best players in the world,
with T Henry and Ronaldhino
battling each other on the pitch.
well,
as a man united fan,
i am going to sit back
and enjoy the show.
whatever the outcome is,
it will definitely be a great match.
definitely.
